How to Wash and Care for Your Colombian Faja – Make It Last

How to Wash and Care for Your Colombian Faja

Your faja is an investment in your body. Take care of it properly and it will keep delivering results for months. Here's everything you need to know about faja care.

How to Wash Your Faja

Hand Washing (Recommended)

  1. Fill a basin with cool or lukewarm water
  2. Add a small amount of mild, fragrance-free detergent
  3. Submerge your faja and gently squeeze the water through the fabric
  4. Rinse thoroughly until no detergent remains
  5. Gently press out water — do not wring or twist

Machine Washing (Acceptable)

If you must machine wash, use a mesh laundry bag, cold water, and a delicate cycle. Use a gentle detergent. Never wash with rough fabrics like jeans or items with zippers that can damage the compression material.

How to Dry Your Faja

Never put your faja in the dryer. Heat damages elastane fibers and permanently reduces compression. Always air dry flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Your faja should be fully dry before wearing again.

How Often Should You Wash Your Faja?

Wash your faja after every 1–2 wears. If you're wearing it during exercise or in hot weather, wash after each use. Bacteria and sweat buildup can degrade the fabric and cause skin irritation.

Storage Tips

  • Store flat or loosely folded — not compressed or stuffed
  • Keep away from direct sunlight when storing
  • Don't hang by the straps for extended periods as it can stretch them

When to Replace Your Faja

A well-maintained faja typically lasts 6–12 months with daily wear. Signs it's time for a replacement: loss of elasticity, fabric thinning, or the compression no longer feels firm.
